As an experienced BigCommerce user, here’s my view of the service, for what it’s worth, keeping in mind that it’s one of the biggest eCommerce platforms. Overall the platform is liked and appreciated for its positive points, by me and by others with whom I’ve discussed the matter, but it’s definitely not the favourite. Here’s why.
I really must appreciate the fact that it charges no transaction fees. Also, their design templates are very attractive. There’s also the fact that it’s so easy to use. The single-page checkout is another big plus factor. That’s quite a collection of plus points.
However, it is not appreciated for its limited customizability in various areas and doe the revenue limits on plan levels. Once your company earns over a certain amount, it’s like you’re under orders to change your plan to the next level, immediately if not sooner. Its customer support could be best described as unpredictable. Sometimes, no doubt, the customer support is excellent and really comes through for you.
But at other times, it really lets you down. Especially when you really need it to be there for you. Inconsistencies in customer service can be really off-putting. Yet one doesn’t tend to think of that when things are going well.
