Basically, the CPR formula tells you the exact number of free or heavily discounted products you’d need to move over 8 days to get your product ranking on the first page of Amazon for a specific keyword—assuming it’s in your title. This is pulled straight from the search results in tools like Magnet (you know, the one you should already be using).

How is the CPR calculated?
Back in the day, Helium 10’s CPR was based on old-school coupon giveaways and 2-step URLs. But those days are gone. Amazon slapped down on those tactics, and if you're still using them, well… good luck keeping your account.
Nowadays, Amazon sellers are shifting to full-price sales through search-find-buy (SFB) and PPC. Why? Because Sales Velocity is the #1 ranking signal for Amazon’s A9 algorithm. The faster you sell, the faster you climb.

What is Helium 10 Static CPR Score?
The Static CPR Score is the conservative cousin in the family. It’s calculated based on general benchmarks when Helium 10 lacks key data points—like when your listing was created, or if you’re not ranking in the top 16 results for a keyword.
This score is ideal when you’re launching a new product or targeting a keyword you’re not ranking for at all. Think of it as your safe starting point.
What is Helium 10 Dynamic CPR Score?
Now we’re talking. The Dynamic CPR Score is aggressive and personalized. It factors in your current keyword ranking, who else is on page 1, how many of them have the keyword in their title, and how old their listings are.
It only kicks in when your product isn’t in the top 16 at the time of the check, and you’ll find it inside Helium 10’s Keyword Tracker tool.
Pro Tip: Want to reduce your giveaway cost? Use Keyword Tracker to target long-tail variations of your main keyword with lower CPR requirements. Stack them, rank them, and build your way up to the main keyword while keeping your wallet (and inventory) intact.

In my experience, CPR hasn’t ever been a reliable metric. I just check the keywords sales velocity using XRay, much better if you ask me
Hi Eugenie. I think you’re right. Most of the keywords have a 8 CPR scoring, which seems kinda weird. If you check the products Sales Velocity on Xray for a certain keyword and compare it against CPR, 9 out of 10 times the results are completely different.
