An Amazon seller scanner app tool gives you information about a product when you scan its barcode so you can have the data to make informed decisions on wether to sell the product on Amazon or pass.
Table of Contents
This will allow you to instantly see how it is performing all this based on its metrics, thus providing you with important data about its price, approximate earnings, and eligibility to sell that item, achieving all this in real-time. Now, once you have mastered this term, without further ado, it is time to introduce you to the applications you should pay more attention to in this aspect. These apps help Amazon third-party sellers quite a bit as having a retail arbitrage app on your smartphone helps sellers to more easily perform retail arbitrage on Amazon.
Let's now dig into the list of best scanner apps for Amazon.
Amazon seller app
Of the things that are most in your favor with this app is that it's free. And even better if you are already a seller who is registered with Amazon, as you can start using it at once. Otherwise, you will first have to register for a seller account.
Once your seller registration progress is ready and you have downloaded the app, you can start scanning products immediately (or if you want you can do a manual search) and find out:
- The price of the product
- The different Amazon Logistics rates
- The approximate profits
- The ranking of the best-selling products
- The total number of sellers
- The official Amazon category
However, we also have the responsibility to tell you about the disadvantages of this app:
- It is not going to be able to show you the taxes and customs duties, so you will only be able to get an estimate of the profitability.
- You will not be able to integrate it with eBay, Google, Keepa, or camelcamelcamel, this disadvantage will make it more difficult for you to match the trends and price history of the product.
- You will most likely have difficulty being able to calculate the maximum ROI because it will only be able to show you the lowest price on new items.

BuyBotPro
This is a Chrome Extension you can use both on Desktop and Android Phone, here's the link for Chrome's App store
You can use directly when browsing the Amazon Marketplace featuring an automated FBA calculator and an online arbitrage / wholesale analysis tool

CONS
- Limited to specific marketplaces

Scoutify
One of my favourite apps for Retail Arbitrage. Before we show you all the qualities that this excellent application brings for you, we have to tell you first what its biggest drawback is: this is that you must register to receive the full package. But it is one of those where you get completely everything you pay for, it is worth it, and the features you get are excellent. (Due to the cost it has, it is highly recommended that sellers who already have a high monthly volume do so, as the app requires an Amazon Pro merchant account).

PROS
- Built-in scanner with Bluetooth option
- Calculates potential profit easily
- Compares sales across marketplaces
- Customizable data and alerts
CONS
- Limited to US Amazon Marketplace
- Lacks offline functionality
- No desktop version available
- Requires InventoryLab subscription
Here are its features and benefits:
- You will be able to have the facility to integrate with third-party applications, which means you can sync it with Keepa and camelcamelcamel.
- They work on taxes so that you can get a final price number that is even closer.
- You can scan with Bluetooth
- The app has a shopping list that keeps a history of all your purchases so you can always stay on top of them.
- With the app, you will have access to InventoryLab, which means you have reporting, sourcing, and accounting tools always available at your fingertips.
This is most certainly the best scanner app out there talking in terms of quality and features available to the user, but if you are still not completely sure if it is the best option for you, they also have a free one-month trial.

Profit Bandit
Another Retail Arbitrage classic. This scanner app also asks that you have a paid subscription, but it's also quite affordable and doesn't compromise on the ability to be able to search for items in real-time. This is a huge advantage: it gives you the ability to make the best possible decisions because all the information it has is the most up-to-date at your fingertips.
Not to mention, its more affordable cost is an excellent entry point for lower volume sellers.

FBAScan
FBAScan has been around since forever. If you sometimes by sheer bad luck find yourself in a reception/wifi black hole, this app is perfect for these times, as the app has you covered by switching between live search and local database modes. It has all the information that the other apps have (such as Amazon Logistics prices, sales rankings, type, image, weight, title, etc.), but the standalone data/wifi feature makes it independent.

ScanPower
This app will set you back more financially, but it also has the advantage that it's going to put you further ahead with the best and most accurate live data Amazon contains. If it works best being on the go, this app is worth a second look. And if you need to send information while you're away from home, but you want to be able to send it back to your desktop to reflect on it later, this app will also allow you to do that. Another interesting feature that catches our attention is the ability to create 2D barcodes so that when you send your items, it's already there and you don't have to worry about it.

Scanlister
ScanLister is a bulk listing tool for Amazon Sellers. You can scan products with a Barcode Scanner and upload them directly to Amazon. Of course, you can analyze them first.

PROS
- Supports multiple Amazon categories
- Detailed listing workflow option
- Compatibility with label printers
- Box content feature for shipments

- Limited to specific Amazon markets
- PC-specific features not on Mac
- Focus primarily on books and media
Conclusion
I've been into Retail Arbitrage for long enough to know that there is a huge difference between apps and Scoutify is the best one by far. Integrated with the other InventoryLab tools, it's a killer app for RA, featuring:
- Built-in scanner
- Bluetooth connection
- Profit calculator
- Working for every Amazon marketplace
- Integrated with the rest of inventory tools: reporting, inventory, rank tracker, Buy Box tracker…
- Get your FBA labels directly in the app
- Print them on demand
- Works not just for Amazon but other sites as well so you can arbitrage using several marketplaces
- You can create your listings directly from the app
- Export data to a CSV file
Well, as you can see, Scoutify beats the rest of the apps by far 🙂
