Jungle Scout Opportunity Finder is one of those tools I’ve been using for years 8 years, to be exact both for my own Amazon projects and for consulting clients. It's built to help Amazon sellers dig out product niches with real profit potential. Basically, it hunts down high-demand, low-competition keywords so you can stop guessing and start validating.
Table of Contents
One of my favorite features is the Niche Score. It gives you a quick read on how viable a niche might be, and when you mix that with seasonality trends and super granular filters, you’re pretty much set to make informed decisions. Jungle Scout’s UI is clean and simple, which helps you get stuff done fast without diving into spreadsheets or getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
There's also a nice library of resources that Jungle Scout users get access to. You’ll find guides, case studies and tools to help you not just survive, but grow your Amazon biz with a bit more confidence.
Pro tip: If you’re serious about avoiding duds, don’t even look at niches scoring under 6/10. I usually stick to 7+ for client projects and my own stuff.
Available metrics
Here’s the kind of stuff you can filter and analyze:
- Average Daily Sales: How many units sell per day, on average.
- Average Daily Revenue: The average daily cash the product brings in.
- Best Seller Rank (BSR): Where the product sits in Amazon’s rankings.
- Price: Track how the price moves over time.
- Inventory: Monitor current stock levels.
- Units Sold: Total units sold in a set period.
- Buy Box Price: See what price owns the Buy Box.
- Sales Trends: Spot patterns over 30 or 90 days.
- Product Reviews and Ratings: Get a feel for customer satisfaction and overall rating health.
Filters to refine product ideas
You can use the following pre-made filters to speed up the hunt:
- High Demand: Only see products that people are buying like crazy.
- Good Opportunity: Finds products with decent margins and low risk.
- Low Competition: Filters out the saturated stuff.
- Low Seasonality: Look for products that sell all year round.
- Trending Up: Focuses on stuff that’s gaining traction.
- Strong Price Point: Aims for products priced in a healthy profit range.
Custom filter options
You can tweak these filters to match your exact goals:
- Average Monthly Units Sold (min/max)
- Average Monthly Price (min/max)
- Monthly Search Volume (min/max)
- Niche Score (min/max)
- 30-Day Search Trend
- 90-Day Search Trend
- Competition (very low to very high)
- Seasonality (very low to very high)
Keyword filters
- Include Keywords: Add terms you want included in search results.
- Exclude Keywords: Filter out anything you don’t want showing up.
- Exclude Top Brands: Kick out the big players to focus on brands you can actually compete with.
Preset filters
Here are the quick-select filters you can apply: High Demand, Good Opportunity, Low Competition, Low Seasonality, Trending Up and Strong Price Point.
How can you use it to find profitable niches?
This is how I usually roll with it:
- Spotting trends and building product strategy around them before they go mainstream.
- Understanding seasonality patterns to plan inventory and launches better.
- Checking competition levels to find low-hanging fruit in less saturated markets.
- Digging into data on reviews, pricing, and sales to figure out if a niche is too crowded or worth testing.
- Using the Niche Hunter feature with custom filters to align with specific business models or goals.
Review
After using Jungle Scout’s Opportunity Finder for 8 years, I can say it’s one of the tools that actually gets better with time. The team keeps improving the accuracy of the data and adding new filtering options, which helps sellers focus on niches with real potential instead of wasting hours in spreadsheets or browsing Amazon listings manually.
The Niche Score is easily the MVP of the tool. It speeds up decision-making, especially when paired with the search volume and seasonality trends. If you're serious about selling on Amazon and not just playing around, this is the kind of tool that deserves a spot in your toolkit.

Opportunity score is simply brilliant, so many insights and granular data on trends!
The filters man, it walways comes down to the filers: categories, competition level, demand, price and more. This level of specificity has saved me countless hours of research. To me, is a solid 9/10. The only reason Im not giving a full score is the database which should include more international markets. However, it’s a must-have in your arsenal.
thanks for your comment, Rowan!
