When you decide to get started with e-commerce, dropshipping is an attractive option as suppliers can fulfill your orders without having to stock, package, and ship stock. However, difficulties arise when trying to make it profitable because there are so many people doing business with dropshipping and so there is little to compete on other than price.
Table of Contents
To compete and make decent profits the key is to choose the best place to source products from, so having a good dropshipper that delivers on time, is competitively priced and that you can trust will drastically change your chances of success.
Below is an overview of the different ways you can get dropshipping suppliers and some of the best dropshipping directories.
What is dropshipping?
Essentially, it is a method of purchasing and fulfillment where the online seller does not have to store, package or ship their products, they purchase products from suppliers only when a transaction takes place. This eliminates the risk of buying products that cannot be exchanged.
How do dropshipping directory sites work?
Dropshipping directories are databases that allow you to search for suppliers and/or products. Some offer monthly research reports, others create listings automatically on marketplaces, and others allow you to integrate your suppliers into their system.
Within the directory, you can view details about each supplier to help you make comparisons and get a high-level overview.

Spocket
Spocket is a web based dropshipping service you can connect to your Shopify, Bigcommerce, Wix, SquareSpace and other storefronts. Just like Oberlo, you can upload your catalogue to the shop to sell directly there or even upload it to Amazon (manually).
Spocket is trusted by +60.000 dropshippers world wide and features exclusive products, some of them manufactured on the UK or Australia, so you don't just have Chinese or Indian manufactured products. The fact that they have exclusive products is also a win, because you are not just selling what everyone can find on Alibaba.
The product's quality is also better than what you can usually find on similar services such as VidaXL or BestBuy so, to me, this is one of the best places to source unique products.
Spocket pricing
There are 4 pricing tiers, from forever free to the Empire Plan ($99,99 / month), including access to 10,000 unique products, 10,000 premium products, Branded invoicing and Chat support. There's a 14 day free trial available. No credit card needed.

World Wide Brands
The oldest directory for dropdshipping. It has more than 8,000 suppliers, all of whom are vetted before being added to the site. Its vetting process involves meeting suppliers face-to-face at trade shows and visiting their factories to find out if they are legitimate.
The search function, allows you to get detailed supplier information. There are more than 1.8 million products listed under global brands in all kinds of niches and its interface is really simple. On top of that, some listed suppliers have high minimum orders which can reduce profits if you don't buy many products at once.

Doba
One of the largest directories in the world, it acts as an intermediary between you and suppliers. It has over two million products listed in the directory that are shipped by around 200 different suppliers and integrates with all major e-commerce platforms.
You can access reports to compare supplier costs and shipping processes, and it lets you know when a supplier is running out of a specific product or if a product description has changed in any way.
Pricing
Doba's basic plan costs $24,99 per month. More expensive plans provide access to features such as Amazon data export and batch order uploading, and its customer service is a big selling point.

Yet another China site where you can find suppliers and manufacturers and great pricings. TO be honest, I haven't placed an order there, so I can't judge, but they've been around since forever, so I guess the service is great.
As you will see, their categories are based on the B2B side, not on the B2C:
- Manufacturing

- Consumer Electronics
- Industrial Equipment
- Electrical & Electronics
- Construction & Decoration
- Light Industry & Daily Use
- Auto, Motorcycle Parts & Accessories

Wholesale2B
Provides access to over a million products from over 100 suppliers, with an integrated system that works with most major e-commerce marketplaces. You can browse a niche-filtered directory, the platform will automatically sync stock information with your store to keep inventory levels and product details up to date.
Wholesale2B pricing plans differ depending on the e-commerce platform you are using. For example, using Wholesale2B with eBay or Amazon costs $37.99 per month, while Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce cost $29.99 per month.
On the downside, it's very difficult to contact the platform by phone or email, and it also doesn't offer particularly advanced performance analytics.
Pricing
- $37.99 / month

Bonus: Jungle Scout suppliers database
Jungle Scout suppliers database has a lot of manufacturers classified by Country of origin and searchable per ASIN, company, supplier or product name.
To me, is a must to determine wether a manufacturer is trustable or not, because you can see all the orders placed by another Jungle Scout users. Which leads me to the next step on the way: be careful if you find a manufacturer with lots of orders, that'd mean that lots of competitors are sourcing from the same factory.
Pricing
The Suppliers Database is included both on Suite ($49/month) and Professional ($84/month) plans
Conclusion: which one is the best dropship supplier for Amazon?
After evaluating the examples and been working with some of them as an Amazon Seller myself, AutoDS is the best option, and here's why:
AutoDS offers an all-inclusive dropshipping solution, which is ideal for businesses looking for a streamlined process. Here are the factors that make it stand out:
- +500 million sourceable products from various countries
- The tools, such as Advanced Product Research, Seamless Product Importer, Real-time Price & Stock Monitoring, Intelligent Automatic Price Optimization, and Order Management, are far better than the rest of the options, which are (mostly) just directories
- They offer shipping in just 2-3 days, making it one of the fastest analyzed
- Priced at $9.90/month, it is one of the most budget-friendly options while offering the most features
- AutoDS integrates with popular platforms like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Shopify, Wix, and Woocommerce, making it versatile for different e-commerce platforms, so you can sell in a lot of sales channels for less than $10 a month
In comparison with the rest, while other platforms offer specific advantages such as unique products (Spocket), free memberships (Alibaba, DH Gate, Made-in-China), or vast supplier databases (SaleHoo, World Wide Brands), they either have limitations like being restricted to certain geographical areas (Sellvia) or lack essential features or integrations that make the dropshipping process seamless.
So, my vote is for AutoDS 😉
How do I find dropshipping suppliers?
There are several ways to obtain suppliers depending on what you want to sell and how you want to sell it.
1. Contact the manufacturer
Talking on the phone directly with the manufacturer helps separate legitimate dropshipping suppliers from those who are just in it for the quick buck.
If you already know what products you want to sell, you can request a list of wholesale suppliers that you can then contact to find out if they ship direct. Then all that's left is to set up an account with your chosen supplier.
Another advantage of this is that you can quickly get a selection of relevant products in your area.
2. Use Google
You can try doing targeted searches to find the best dropshipping suppliers. Use words like “resellers”, “mass” and “distributor” instead of just “[product] wholesaler” to refine your results, but it may take some time to go through all your options.
Wholesalers are notoriously bad at marketing their business, which means you may need to sift through a few pages of results to find a specific wholesaler's website.
3. Go to trade shows
These events allow you to connect with key suppliers in a specific market, allowing you to network and do your research in one place.
This is best suited to vendors who have already decided on a niche or product, but if you have the resources to attend, it can take a lot of the hassle out of the research process.
4. Stalk your competition
Chances are you're not the only drop shipper in your market, but this gives you the advantage of discovering the best suppliers in your industry.
Your rivals are unlikely to tell you who they use, so you can start by finding a dropshipping competitor and placing a small order with them. This will allow you to Google the return address which will reveal the company that shipped the product. You will then be able to quickly find a dropshipping supplier that you can contact.
5. Find a directory site
Directory sites are one of the easiest ways to analyze hundreds (or even thousands) of dropshipping suppliers in one place. They are databases that are organized by market, niche or product, and usually apply some sort of screening process to make sure they only include legitimate dropshipping suppliers. Only, usually, these directories charge a fee to access the database.
Tips for dropshipping success
- Know your niche: so you can focus on high selling, high profitability items and dominate certain markets.
- Test your product: if the product is not good enough, customers will not come back, so it is important to make sure your product is of high quality and exactly as your store describes it.
- Don't limit your suppliers: different suppliers offer different advantages. Test different options to see which ones fit best with your business model.
- Add value: to make your store stand out, write your product descriptions and present them in a different way than other stores.
- Automate the process: When you start receiving bulk orders, it can be a chore to manually place orders with your suppliers. To make it easier, automate the process.
Dropshipping gives e-commerce sellers the flexibility they need to build a business from scratch. There's no need to stock products, buy packaging, or even ship products.
It can be the perfect way to dive into the world of e-commerce and for this, there are many ways to succeed, the common denominator is choosing the right suppliers!

Dropshipping is just a fancy way of saying middleman. Why not cut out the middleman and source products yourself?
Because they will ask for minimum order quantities (MOQ) and you may don’t have the money to buy 100, 500 or 1,000 units. And if you buy 10 or 20 the unit price will be higher, so you won’t have so much net margin
Has anyone tried dropshipping with SaleHoo? Curious to know if its worth it!
I totally disagree with the articles list of best dropshipping suppliers. What about AliExpress or Oberlo?
Why buy from Aliexpress when you can “kill” the middleman and go straight to Alibaba?
Ive tried dropshipping with SaleHoo and its been a total disaster. 3 weeks to ship the products!!!!
Dropshipping is like having a virtual army of suppliers, working behind the scenes for you!
Is anyone else tired of dropshipping articles? Im ready for something new!
I cant believe BigBuy didnt make it to the top 3! Such a bummer! 🤷♀️
